International Dawn Chorus Day

Taking place on the first Sunday of May, International Dawn Chorus Day is the worldwide celebration of nature’s greatest symphony. All across the world people rise early to revel in the sweet sound of birdsong. The dawn chorus doesn’t all start at dawn, though, different birds join in at different times, with robins often up earliest, the Robin is one of my favourites along with the Blackbird. Experience the British dawn chorus here courtesy of the RSPB:

Hope you enjoyed your dawn chorus where ever you are, it certainly lifts the spirit – best poetry ever!

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)
