I have only recently come across the phenomenon of writing ‘Morning Pages’, a type of ritualistic journaling, a writing process to clear your mind, build confidence and make way for greater creativity, I have tried it and found it very therapeutic.

For those who don’t know, basically when you wake up each morning, open your journal and write continuously in an uncensored way about any thoughts that come into your head fill 3 pages of your journal. If you block just keep writing anything even if its ‘morning pages’ over and over until something else springs into your mind.
Pay no attention to the form or spelling it should be authentic just as it comes out onto the page. Avoid any distractions like your phone or the radio and most importantly try not to read what you have written as the whole idea is to clear your mind, so you don’t want to fill it back up again, just make a note of anything you might want to use later and put the journal away.
Remember, there is no right or wrong way to do them, so release your unconscious and open up to being even more creative than you already are!

I used to do morning pages, and that has since evolved into just normal journalling. It’s a great way to learn to listen to myself, and I haven’t skipped a day ever since I started about three years ago. Anyway, thanks for this post!
