Maeve Binchy was born on this day, May 28th 1939 in Dublin (1939 – 2012) she is one of my favourite authors. She told marvellous stories, mostly located in Ireland, dealing with the tensions between urban and rural life.. Although times may change, people remain the same: they fall in love, they have dreams; friendships, and sometime things go wrong.
Her novels have been translated into 37 languages, and she is of one of Ireland’s best-loved writers, one of her greats is is her 1985 book ‘Echoes’ , the novel follows the lives local families between the years 1950 and 1962 – I recommend it.

Please have a look at the link where you can see Maeve talking about Ireland, what makes a good page turner and a lot more:

Maeve once said:
‘The most important thing to realise is that everyone is capable of telling a story. It doesn’t matter where we were born or how we grew up’
This is so true so what is stopping us….lets write!

PS Have also included Fandango’s prompt for today which is the word ‘Locate‘
Love Echoes, but my favourite is Light a Penny Candle.
