Hello ‘Weavers’, a W3 prompt hosted by David (see link below), this week Britta has been selected as POW with her beautiful poem entitled ‘‘Boots on the ground”.
Britta guidelines are to write a prose poem inspired by the theme of ‘love’.
It has been a good few years since I have tried prose poetry but I did enjoy it, thanks Britta! I have called my poem ‘I Love Trees’, thanks for looking:
I Love Trees
Trees, what’s not to love, whether it is one solitary tree or a whole rainforest I love them all, their colours, shapes and sizes, reminiscent of us humans in many ways, however there is a difference they are never hurtful, never fickle. They provide shelter, shade and a home for many creatures, allowing birds to perch and sing out their melodies.
I love how their branches sway and bend with the wind, so strong, but forever giving and how their delicate leaves rustle, such a peaceful sound, while spreading dappled shadows, like moving pictures that revive your soul. When you hug a tree you connect with mother nature, rooting you to all that is good, all that is pure.
I love trees, how they breathe life into this world and breathe hope into me.
