Tanka Tuesday

This weeks prompt is to write a Japanese Kouta 小唄 (short song) that has several variations, though always short. The theme should reflect ordinary life and often uses colloquialisms and onomatopoeia, most popular are love songs. The elements of Kouta are: 4 lines. (occasionally 5); a stand alone poem but can be accompanied by other Koutas with the same theme; variable syllables, the most common patterns are 7-5-7-5 or 7-7-7-5; secular, personal, themes of ordinary life and often includes onomatopoeia.

Here is mine, although not very seasonal 🙂

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)
