The Winter Solstice

Happy Winter Solstice, – today is the shortest day of the year, but the good news is that every day after today will be a little longer πŸ™‚ . Winter can indeed be long and dreary, with the sun setting too quickly not providing enough light or warmth. Still, winter is also a time for being together too, so I hope you are with loved ones.

(The term midwinter is also used synonymously with the winter solstice, although it can carry other meanings as well.)

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)
