Micro-Seasons

In Mark’s blog this week, he describes the micro-season of “The Elk Sheds its Antlers”, the second micro-season of the mini-season Winter Solstice. (We have now also entered ‘Beneath the Snow the Wheat Sprouts’ Jan 01 – Jan 05).

This week’s haiku invitation however is to write a haiku or senryu that references deer, elk, or any other member of the Cervidae family. so here is mine 🙂

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)

  1. Those photos are amazing! Especially the one with the elk shedding the velvet from the antlers. And wonderful haiku highlighting that transition time! Take care and see you next week!
