In Mark’s blog this week, he describes the micro-season of “The Elk Sheds its Antlers”, the second micro-season of the mini-season Winter Solstice. (We have now also entered ‘Beneath the Snow the Wheat Sprouts’ Jan 01 – Jan 05).
This week’s haiku invitation however is to write a haiku or senryu that references deer, elk, or any other member of the Cervidae family. so here is mine 🙂

Amazing elk photos.

Those photos are amazing! Especially the one with the elk shedding the velvet from the antlers. And wonderful haiku highlighting that transition time! Take care and see you next week!
