For this week’s Tanka Tuesday, Colleen Chesebro encourages us to try writing senryū poetry, a Japanese form similar to haiku: three lines with a short-long-short syllable count up to 17 syllables. It’s a poem with the ‘human’ at its centre as opposed to nature.
Thanks for looking ❤
Wow! That’s powerful! I love it!

This topic has been on my mind for awhile now. This is so true! We as a nation seem to have very deep pockets and yet poverty is stalking us all!

One of the few species, maybe the only species, that parasitizes itself. The fat cats live in luxury and the oppressed masses barely scraping by 😦

Beautiful poem, but I’m not sure if the impoverishment is created by its own hands.

I can see what you mean I was trying to say the act of becoming poor is caused by the men with moneyed deep pockets 🙂

Reminds me of some of the articles I glaced at about those who had more than enough and let it all slip away…
And then there is the good stories about paying it forward. A gent paying for the breakfast of a Mother and her son… just because he wanted to be nice.
