Tanka Tuesday

Hi, it’s Tanka Tuesday again https://wordcraftpoetry.com/2023/01/24/tankatuesday-ekphrastic-poetry-challenge-no-304/ and we have been given the beautiful image above of the oil painting by George Henry Boughton ‘The Lady of the Snows’ held in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.

Our challenge from Colleen is to write an ekphrastic poem in response to it, this is one of my favourite types of inspirations for poetry, it can be either in syllabic form or a freestyle.

I have chosen a cinquain with the syllable structure of 2-4-6-8-2. Thanks for looking 🙂
