‘The Mountain Stream Freezes Over’

Hi, Mark this week informs us have entered the micro-season of “The Mountain Stream Freezes Over”, which is the second micro-season of the mini-season Major Cold. I really enjoyed the read about how flowing water freezes and the accompanying haikus. Our challenge is to write a haiku or senryu that references frozen water in any form.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)

  1. I’ve not been on too many (or any) frozen beaches. though one time while visiting in Mass. I walked about 3/4’s around a small pond in winter. It only had a very small ‘beach’ area. A very crunchy walk in the woods around that pond 🙂

      1. Nice to be alone in the wooded area. Sad though that someone might have been living there – I saw traces of an ‘encampment’ which made me wonder if I was safe enough… and the litter – that was sad to see too.

Nature in winter can be very lovely. 🙂
