Hi, in Mark’s Micro-seasons blog he tells us that we have entered the “Fish Rise From The Ice” https://naturalistweekly.com/2023/02/17/micro-season-fish-rise-from-the-ice-2023/ and he challenges us to write a haiku or senryu that references melting ice or melting snow.
One of the haiku’s he posted is from Jack Kerouac – just perfect 🙂
Water in the birdbath
–a film of ice
On the moon

reaching out the sun
remembered to warm the lake
and the trout broke free

Very nice! I like that the trout breaks free from winter! Hopefully spring is on its way!

I hope it’s soon for you it’s starting to feel a bit like spring here from time to time 💖

We had some days in the 50s, then got 8″ of snow, ugh. Now that’s melted again, and we’re expecting ‘wintry mix’ the next 2 days. But the days are lengthening and the snow is melting in between storms…so there are signs its getting closer 💞
