Hi, Friday again and that can only mean one thing, Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers π we have the inspiring photo above from Miles Rost for our piece of flash fiction in 100 words. https://rochellewisoff.com/2023/03/01/3-march-2023/
I was astonished today as I just began writing and when I ended the story and counted the words – 102 – unbelievable for me, so just had to trim 2 off π

Blood stains are very hard to get out.

She will have done a cold wash with a lot of salt…… I think I have thought about this too deeply π

Chilling! (and very cold-blooded especially if she was smart to use a cold water wash!)

Some neatly woven and very dark connotations there. Well done, AJ.

Sounds like she has it all planned out. Or has she forgotten a small detail that will give her away?!

Well thatβs the worry she may well have π€

She better burn the stained clothes, there may be residues she can’t see. Chillingly good story.

Of course the body is a little harder to hide than the blood stains…

The Tell-Tale Stain. I think discarding or burning the clothes is the best route, but I doubt she’s thinking rationally.

Yes cold water wash with salt should do the trick! π

Is that true? Does it work on other stains? Or is it to keep from staining? I guess it’s worth a try since those clothes now have sentimental value.

salt and cold water are recommended for removing blood stains, ideally soaked with a salt paste beforehand – not sure how effective it is on other stains – some say it helps with red wine spills but I think that is a myth π

I understand that forensics can find blood in drains these days. Perhaps she’d better go far, far away!

Well I think she has chosen a laundrette that is far away π

Ouch. Well hopefully the wash and dry won’t take long. She’s clearly justified it in her head, and maybe he deserved it. No one thinks of all the cleaning needed afterwards

Haha – yes got to plan ahead – Ps you are very understanding π

She’s very shrewd to take it to the laundromat instead of using her own washer and dryer. I like how you use the blood washing down the drain as she washed him down the drain. Good story, AJ.

It would have been better if she’d burned them. Maybe she needs the mundane wash experience to cement her story. Nice one.

Someone needs to tell her about hydrogen peroxide. It’s cheap and excellent removing blood stains or brain tissue. Fun story.
