Hi, this week Mark informs us that we have entered the micro-season of “Plants Show Their First Buds”. https://naturalistweekly.com/2023/03/03/micro-season-plants-show-their-first-buds-2023/ This is the final micro-season of the mini-season Rain Water, and it is so apt here in North Wales, as tree buds are appearing. Mark also invites us to write a haiku or senryu that references buds or young plants <3.

The first dance of spring performed by buds on the breeze. Lovely.

A hopeful poem. Your Spring is ahead of mine by several months! We are under a winter storm watch – expecting 8″ of snow. I hope the trees are okay after a week of warmish weather (warm for Feb/Mar). No buds on my trees and I don’t expect to see any until we are well into April. I’m hoping my daffodils bloom by mid-May.
