A Micro-Season Haiku

Hi, Mark in his great blog this week, has informed us that we have entered the micro-season of “The First Reeds Grow.” This is the first micro-season of the mini-season of Grain Rain – https://naturalistweekly.com/2023/04/21/micro-season-the-first-reeds-grow-2023/

In this season, we become more aware of the greening of the landscape, the term “Reeds” being a common name for many grass-like plants. So this week Mark invites us to write a haiku or senryu that references sprouting plants. This is also poem twenty-one for NaPoWriMo 🙌

Thanks for looking 😊

I was born and live in rural North Wales (UK) and found poetry again after a lifetime, so grateful I did :)

  1. I read Paula’s and Murisopsis comments about Spring Roll and I didn’t get it at first. Then it clicked and I laughed out loud! Spring rolls are one of my favorite things to have for dinner. I haven’t tried them as a breakfast option.
